WoodMarvels.com June/July 2011 Review
Yeah, I skipped a month… just so much happening behind the scenes it’s rather incredible I got through it. Traditionally our peak season for sales starts in Mid-August so I had to lay the groundwork and gets lots of things updated to prepare for the upcoming worldwide onslaught! It doesn’t feel like two months have passed… more like a few weeks!
So, what happened at WoodMarvels.com over the past two months?
- I launched ShopMarvels.com which is an online directory and networking forum for creatives such as yourself reading this blog post… launching it in the middle of the summer allows me to work out the bugs and do testing before Q4 starts. Basically a free way to promote your shop and share your knowledge! Special thanks to Edgar the Inventor for doing the initial promo blast-out!
- Mathew launched a new model: Rail Service Cart, Edgar joined and launched a new model: Elastic Band Gun and David Newman added: Tree and Twin Pamphlet Holders. I released the Ferris Wheel B – a major upgrade over the original design in every respect then showed how it was made. Of course, I made public my first engraving model (without the engraving files for now), the Electronics Trophy!
- After some unscheduled downtime, I decided to move all of my businesses to more robust servers (what was going to take a week ended up taking 3!)
- Trotec Australia showed off the Physics Trophy and the Sydney Harbor Bridge at the TroPro 2011 across several cities.
- Chris showed off his cool Model T which I designed a while back – which you can get off ShopBot at their tradeshow booth by the way, on Vectric Forums! Camheads also mentioned WoodMarvels.com on several posts too!
