Eiffel Tower: New Laser Cutter Project Launch!
This is the first project in a very long time that I documented fully from initial ideal to finished project – almost 10 blog entries showing how I built it step by step and starting today – you can buy it yourself and cut it right now!
Made-up of 58 pieces, the finished Eiffel Tower measures a huge L: 500 W: 500 H: 1500 (mm) or L: 19-11/16 W: 19-11/16 H: 59-1/16 (in) when fully built. Just use glue! You can find it under Trotec Laser Cutter / Landmarks right now at CNCKing.com in PDF, DXF, EPS and AI file formats!
It’s a great project for beginners and advanced CNC laser cutter users but be warned… it will take a while to cut! It took David Newman’s Trotec Laser 500 a total of 16 hours to cut all the pieces but luckily, he documented the entire thing which you can see below.

Eiffel Tower: Cutting and Assembly Video
This model is screaming to be 3D printed and cut with a table router and plasma cutter – good thing about my workflow is that it’s relatively easy to modify the model to suit but in the case of the table router, I’d need to wait till I get myself a bigger table… indexing is all good and fun but not when you have massive pieces to cut. I’ll have to design other fun models for my ShopBot Desktop!
