CNCKing.com Review: October 2013
This past month was busy as the previous ones but I was able to get back into designing projects again after a few months of straight book editing, layout and editing. My new book was and continues to be a great success and it has opened a whole bunch of new doors for me and CNCKing.com which was its intention (got up to #36 one time!). Hopefully traffic doesn’t make my server go down again using my current server configuration – happy YouTube is covering the bandwidth on my two million views though!
CNCKing.com September 2013 Happenings
- I documented how I went about designing my Kangaroo shelf and later, put-up the video of me cutting and assembling it… by far one of the better videos I’ve produced so far! Should be officially launched in a few days. I also did the same for Medieval Castle Walls B 3D printer project which is rendering out – probably out sometime next week.
- Released a new CNC laser design by David Newman of a Christmas inspired project using only two pieces! 2D never looked so great as well as my own CNC laser Spinning Gears and CNC laser/router Croc Head design. On the subject of gears, 3D printed Cog Box came out as well!
- Got my first new book review by Guy @ Ponoko and Sean @ PacPress.
- I wrote about the journey my cover design skills have made since I first started publishing books… now an anthology! I should have my first Lightning Source proof approved in a few days as well… opening my books to schools, major institutions and libraries around the world!
- Interviewed Grant Miller who produces some amazing 3D printer projects, some of which I sell her under the category 3D printing as well as why Zim got funded by kickstarter.com.
- Wrote about two projects (among many) that I’m working on… a cool moving crane you can sit on and London Bridge! I might sneak-in a few in between though that have inspired me a bit more though I still have some designs that just go NOWHERE.
- I released a CNC table router and laser cutter Sydney Harbour Bridge – a major updated in size from my original a few years back. Thanks for tiling abilities with my ShopBot which I further documented in my last part of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
- Wrote about my requirements for 3D designs using a single-head 3D printer and the evolution of my recent designs using videos.
- Designing a 3D printed Pill Holder is fun… and did a video about additive vs subtractive production.
- Got to remember to mention CNC Table Router Projects = CNC Laser Projects!
