Wooden Big Wheels: 3D Assembly Animation

I’ve been back and forth on this 3D Wooden Big Wheels animation… if you watched the video of me cutting and building the Wooden Big Wheels CNC router project – you’ll noticed half way through I had to make some design changes.

The design was sound but I needed to thicken-up the front steering column and re-enforce things to make absolutely sure that what happened to me – the sheering off of the peg that united the front wheel with the back frame – didn’t happen. I use the cheapest plywood I can find to build my models so I’m sure this wouldn’t have been an issue for somebody building it out of stronger and higher quality wood but I wanted to make sure.

As such, when you view this 3D assembly animation, it shows my original design but the one I sell on CNCKing.com is of the much stronger one. Looking back, it was an obvious flaw but that’s why I build these projects, even if it costs me 500$US to do so… to learn how to build better things the next time!

Wooden Big Wheels: 3D Assembly Animation

I’m so happy that I spent way too much designing, cutting and building this Wooden Big Wheels CNC Router project that’s also CNC laser compatible – I learned so much from the whole process, from becoming a master tiler with my router to clamping technique but at time, it was also overwhelming. A great feather to stick in my hat and a very memorable part of my designing adventures!

Now… onto NEW things!
