Time to learn CorelDraw!
Depending on a few different timelines – I’ll be in Canada with a new Trotec Speedy 400 flexx in only a few short months… and part of that transition is learning CorelDraw! Up to this point, I’ve been designing almost exclusively in 3D and exporting/scaling with Adobe Illustrator but after playing around with CorelDraw! for the last little bit – I’ve come to agree that for 2D work, it’s by far superior to Illustrator.
Unlike Illustrator, it’s actually a very intuitive program and after a few hours of playing around with it… I’ve become pretty proficient in doing what I want! So… this means that once the calm before the storm passes over, I’ll begin converting my files to CorelDraw! formats as I don’t see the point of continuing to use Adobe Illustrator.
It’s odd coming full circle, I taught myself the hardest stuff first and now migrating to the “easy” stuff and the learning curve is so much easier! I can’t imagine teaching somebody my 3D workflow even if they came from the 2D world but the other way around… easy!
Still much to learn!
