Surprising Demand from Customers!

I’ve been taken aback at how much traffic and customer requests I’ve gotten through CNCKing.com from people looking for a custom cutting and engraving shop that can make their projects REAL.

Truth be told, I’ve been doing this stuff over at CNCROi.com but most CNCKing.com didn’t put two and two together until I started crossing the capabilities of one company with the other. I even had one customer tell me that they are excited that they finally have an alternative to Ponoko! I’m certainly not there YET, they are an awesome company and I was among the first of their clients way back when with both a PRIME membership when it first launched and even earlier when the concept was first “announced” on techcrunch eons ago.

Before I took all our products off Ponoko a few years back, we had the biggest shop on their site! I’m intimately familiar with their processes from a designers point of view from upload to final production and shipping. You can read about why I left HERE. I haven’t visited the site again since I left and was reminded about it by the customer comparing me to them, after checking them out today, I realize the potential even more so.

I’m very familiar with the Ponoko business model, they literally broke the seal that got my mind thinking in a more global frame of mind for physical kits. Before I got onto Ponoko, I was selling my designs digitally and they allowed me to offer the same in the physical world. I then invested a crazy amount of time redoubling my efforts in both the physical and digital worlds before going exclusively digital… traveling around the world for 7 years means you don’t want the hassle of shipping and doing customer service!

Now that I’m back and spent almost a year doing custom projects far and wide under CNCROi.com, I can now plow those capabilities and resources into CNCKing.com to dramatically expand the customer base we have with both CNC and the general public.

We sell digital files for people with their own CNC, shapes and kits for the general public AND of course, can custom cut and engrave your projects too! So far, we have North America (Canada and USA) covered with my shop and another in Australia and I’m actively negotiating another in Europe. I’m very particular with who does what and am in no rush to sacrifice quality for growth.

The fact that people are already comparing me to Ponoko is quite an honor, we will see how the future plays out!
