Roman Soldier Knife Block: New CNC Laser Project Launch

I designed and cut out this cool looking Roman Soldier Knife Block in December and now that I’m back from vacation, able to finally launch it here on CNCKing.com so you can cut your very own too!

I had to do a last minute change to the scale of my drawing but that was after I cut out the knife holes in the shield which caused them to be slightly longer than I measured, hence why the knives are more horizontal that 90 degrees to the shield’s surface.

These holes in the shield are not included in the digital EPS, CRD or AI files because you need to measure the height of your knives to suit this model and fit them where you want to insert them. There is plenty of room to put more or less knives and I also designed it so the shield is very easy to scale up or down depending on your utensils.

Otherwise, the model came together very well. I’ve included videos below of both the assembly and the laser cutting process with my Trotec Speedy 400 flexx. The completed  model dimensions @ 6 mm (1/4 inch) thick material are L: 78 W: 170 H: 190 (mm) or L: 3-5/64 W: 6-11/16 H: 7-31/64 (in).

I wrote a bit about the background of this model production wise at http://cncking.com/roman-soldier-knife-block-design-cut-build/.

You can get this model right now at CNCKing.com under CNC LASER / Household / Kitchen.
