My 6 Books now available digitally on CNCKing.com

As some of you may know, I’m very much a student of life and when I learn enough, I try to crystallize what I’ve learned in the form of a physical (and now digital) book. I’m actually in the process of doing that right now with the upcoming release of my 4th volume of designs!

Knowledge is far too easy to lose but by spending time documenting it, it tends to stick in your mind longer and in the process – provide something of value for others to leapfrog ahead by bypassing all the mistakes you did to come to such realization.

So far, I’ve written four books about design (my WoodMarvels.com series) and if you go through them one by one, a rather dramatic increase is evident in both quality and substance. The same is true with my science fiction book 2847 A.D. (I have a rough outline of the other two within the trilogy that I just haven’t had time to commit to yet) and my self-help book as well which I do plan on releasing a follow-up to.

In the instance of my science fiction book – I have far larger ambitions to animate the entire book (it is a trilogy on purpose) once the cost of computers with enough power to be able to render an hour long movie myself become feasible. I wrote it on purpose, to lay the groundwork for something much bigger… as I’ve done with my WoodMarvels.com series. I feel that a book is but a beginning, not and end that is done once you approve the finished publishable proof. I think that’s the least you can expect from a guy who happens to be born in the same small remote town as James Cameron and shares the same birthday as George Lucas!

HowToChinese.com book, which I run with my wife who wrote the book, was another process of discovery, teaching myself a foreign language, traveling through China for a year and a half AND learning about script development, acting (which I still very much suck at) and post production. Basically, what I learn in one place I try to apply towards other places in my life.

The process I enjoy the most from writing books is the sense of accomplishment when they are DONE and launched in the marketplace! It’s an incredible amount of work… for instance, my upcoming Volume 4: Rise of the CNC itself has hundreds of product renders, descriptions and some articles and plans from other designers.
