Mars Rover: Opportunity: New Product Release

It seems to have taken forever but I’ve finally completed the Mars Rover project after close to two months due to delays and the like. This is by far the most ambitious project I’ve taken on so far, considering that if it’s built using 6mm thick wood, the entire model measures about a meter square! It has several moving parts, from satellite receivers to head/neck and even wheels and a camera arm! Complex… yes… that’s why I’ve released a new level of model called “Special Edition” as this is for those who really want a challenge!

Right now, you can purchase and download the blueprints to make your very own Opportunity Mars Rover as I’m still working on the EPS files and physical laser cut kit version of it which I hope to release in a few days. Once that is done, I’m getting a few easier to build models off my drawing board… anything will be simpler than what was involved building this model which taught me a heck of a lot! I also took screen shots during the building process which I hope to animate in the next few days as well.
