Stats are a wonderful thing… and today, they revealed the coolest thing so far in the history of WoodMarvels.com. The guy who actually tells the REAL Mars Rover what to do on Mars actually tweeted about the one for sale at WoodMarvels.com. Fantastic!!!
What does Scott Maxwell actually do?
He describes it best:

I never thought I would ever have WoodMarvels.com mentioned by such a cool guy… the thought never even entered my mind when I designed the wooden version but this really brightened my day big time. Mars Rover Opportunity (Spirit): 3D Assembly and Devolution Animations
An interesting note, the devolution video has gotten 3x more video plays than the assembly animation for reasons beyond my ability of reasoning. Yet another reason to keep trying new things!
I actually have plans on making a 3D Mars animation featuring this rover, simply to show how functional it actually is with rotations, spins and other cool things.
