Five Shot Rubber Band Shooter: New Project Launch!

Edgar the Inventor has launched his newest gun here on CNCKing.com – a Five Shot Rubber Band Shooter! Here are some pictures followed by a video of his quite astounding skills with designing really cool guns for laser cutters!

Five Shot Sniper

I’ve designed over 300 CNC projects and what Edgar has achieved here is a massive leap forward, it’s quite impressive seeing the evolution of his design skills!

Building this out of clear 3 mm acrylic, you can get a sense of the mechanisms involved with this gun, getting everything to work so well as you’ll see in the video is quite a feat of engineering!

And now the video showing proof of concept.

Seeing his rubber band gun shooting away is quite inspiring, I’ve always wanted to get into designing rubber band projects but just never found the time as the tolerances to get everything working perfectly time and again are just as difficult as making geared projects. As soon as you have a sliding mechanism in a design, the level of difficulty, part numbers and attention to detail go up significantly.

This project comes with full coloured assembly instructions so even with a large piece count, you aren’t lost trying to figure out what goes where but I do highly advise that you measure the thickness of your material FIRST and scale the drawing accordingly. This models calls for 3 mm material, if your material, measured using digital calipers (a must!) is 3.3 mm then scale the entire drawing up by 10%.

Hats off to you Edgar, a fantastic design which you can get right now at CNCKing.com under Collaborations / CNC Laser / Edgar the Inventor.
