Erupting Pyramid: New 3D Printer Project Launch!

My 3D Systems Cube can’t print using transparent material but the beauty of 3D modeling is that it doesn’t need to, I can render it with any material I wish!

I wanted to test a concept out (see video below) and made the simplest mesh possible with my 3D Systems Cube and the results were great!

I’ll show you how to make this yourself but as the mesh is incredibly simple, I figure I might as well release it for free for all you scientific extruders out there wanting to give this a try yourselves.

What I really liked about this project was how simple yet cool it is to see something erupting out of something that a few hours earlier, was just wound-up in a cartridge. It’s pretty amazing when you think of the possibilities!
