Eiffel Tower Design Evolution Video

Interested on how I went about designing the laser cut Eiffel Tower that I released recently? Here’s the video!

Eiffel Tower: Design Evolution

I took a render of each step while I was building it so that I could play it later and see how it went… the design was pretty much set in stone way before I was born so there wasn’t much differentiation around the end – unlike my other designs – but it’s still pretty neat to look at this. I didn’t get to see this until a few hours ago myself – you see that internal elevator shaft if you look closely that I had to abandon around the end of the design process.

Remember, the final design is 54 pieces and measures a meter and a half tall – not a small laser cutting feat if you consider it took David (video below) more than 10 hours of laser cutting time to finish the model!

You can find the model right now at CNCKing.com under Trotec Laser / Landmarks in a variety of laser friendly formats… have fun!
