Dragonfly: First Plasma Cutting Project Launch!

I’m happy to announce the release of our very first CNC plasma cutting project – it was this project that put the final nail in WoodMarvels.com’s coffin actually! When I saw this, it wasn’t wood nor 3D printed (for 3DMarvels.com) so it meant I’d have to build and maintain yet another e-commerce site… about a month later, CNCKing.com was build and launched!

Plasma Cut Dragonfly Digital Project Files

If you have a plasma cutter, you will want to give this project a try, it’s made-up of 28 metal pieces and the final assembled model measures L: 350 W: 330 H: 130 (mm) or L: 13-25⁄32 W: 12-63⁄64 H: 5-1⁄8 (in) using 1.5mm (3/50 inch) thick material.

You can find it right now on CNCKing.com under Plasma Cutter (new category heading created today) / It’s alive in AI, DXF, EPS, IGS, SAT, SLD and STEP plasma cutting file formats in addition to PDF assembly instructions. Even if you don’t have a plasma cutter… this is still a great project to play around with and can be easily modified to be laser cut or CNC table router cut though your material will have to be strong as unlike wood or plastic, metal has strength that’s hard to knock.
