Dolphin CNC: New CNC Router Project!
This CNC Dolphin has spinning wheels and an internal third wheel in the back for stability… I wanted to make a very simple project a few years back and this was about the simplest building method I could think of. The CNC version of this original laser model has pocked axles in the back (so you don’t see them through the body) and is also much larger.
Another minor change is that everything is cut from the same wood thickness, I use to use thinner board for the wheels so the piece could easily fit inside the model but have since standardized my rules so that everything must work properly using one wood thickness. This saves on wasted material and weight (when shipping).
The completed 16 piece model has dimensions @ 6mm of L: 39cm, W: 13cm, H: 26cm and is cut across one 500mm x 400mm sheet of plywood. The file formats for this model available are in Partworks, Adobe Illustrator, EPS & DXF.
As with all the other CNC projects, you can find the video of me cutting and assembling this model below and on the product page so you can see how easy it goes together!
You can get it right now at WoodMarvels.com under the ShopBot CNC heading.
