Cog Business Card Holder: New 3D Printer Project

3D printing is great fun because of the freedom to create your very own products exactly the way YOU want it to be – this is also true for CNC routers and lasers of course – but there is something neat about building projects in their entirety without having to glue it all together! I really enjoy designing for different CNC machines here at CNCKing.com as each has it’s optimal build settings – I wouldn’t want to build this using a laser or router – though I could – because I really like the strength that I can achieve using 3D printing with PLA even on thin areas which is tough to do with plywood. This project totally looks like it was injection molded!

Cog Business Card Holder: 3D Printing Animation

This project shows the power to create simple 3D objects that are useful, fun to design and build and can be actually used day to day… like this business card holder I designed exactly to my specs! It fits my needs perfectly – because I designed it to be so.

Designing & 3D Printing a Cog Business Card Holder: Proof of Concept

As you saw, this is a proven design that will only look better the higher-quality 3D printer you have – my 3D Systems Cube is awesome, so far I’ve had no problems with it at all… and I see no reasons for that to change. The only issue I have is that of deciding what to design next, I have never once questioned whether or not it can print as I’ve done enough testing to fully understand its limitations.

You can find this project right now at CNCKing.com under Collaboration / Cantin for a very affordable price and there are many more to come – fun projects galore!
