CNCKing.com Review: May through October 2014

I’ve been so busy since returning from Australia (and China) that I completely forgot to do these CNCKing.com monthly reviews so this is major catchup time now.

The biggest news over the past few months is returning to Canada with a brand new Trotec Speedy 400 flexx and starting-up my custom CNC services shop, CNCROi.com. The first 400 flexx in Canada, then after everything was setup, what I wished I knew beforehand! I haven’t done much designing since returning but now I’m able to start catching my breath again… so here’s the listing of stuff that’s happened since the first of May!

I cut and built a number of models using photos and videos to showcase how everything went for both my Future Cars, Halloween Serving Coffin, P38 Lightning Aircraft, Platform Crane B, Rocket Coaster, Ferris Wheel B, Japanese Miyajima Gate, Eiffel Tower, Pteradactyl, Centrosaur, Stegosaur and Brontosaur,
I was interviewed by Engraver’s Register, Make Magazine, American Innovators, and had an offer from Frederator Studios. My Wooden Big Wheels also appeared in Make Magazine’s online site.
In addition to my own testimonial build videos, I got one from Fredrik with a Straddle Carrier B.
Released a few new models on CNCKing.com including a Five Shot Rubber Sniper and a new plasma cutting project, Humming Bird Bench.
My Eiffel Tower made a few appearances including the World Maker Faire, WISnet and Trotec Canada‘s offices.
I wrote about progress on my upcoming book, the 5th volume… structure to title to ideas and my experiences as Maker Detroit.

Goal for November 2014

I want to wrap-up the first draft of my upcoming book, it’s a massive undertaking and, as if I don’t already have enough to do, needs to be wrapped-up sooner than later as I’d like to release it Q1 of 2015. Best time to send a book off to the editors is when nothing else is going on… and the holiday season fits that bill perfectly.
