CNCKing.com Review: May 2013

May was a busy month – lots done and still lots more to do! Biggest news of the month was the redesign of CNCKing.com – a long time coming and I’m so happy to have that behind me for another year along with a few other changes.

I also started, as promised, pushing hard on videos to introduce people to the various machines I have access to during my travails here at CNCKing.com. I think this past month was the most video minutes I’ve ever produced thus far!

May 2013 Happenings

After having an unsuccessful go at upgrading my Windows 7 to 8, I put two 3d models I made earlier to express my happiness of the entire situation. Oddly enough, I had to flash the motherboard to fix the issues that I had with the install and guess what – my system has been 100% stable ever since! My Windows 7 was fixed by having to fix the mess Windows 8 left behind. I’m happy!
Launched a few more cool models including a Future Fighter, Cube Head Planter, Medieval Village and Siege Weapons, Construction Truck
I did a machine walk through of a Trotec Laser 300 and a ShopBot Desktop with complete rundown of the differences between all 3 CNC machines I have here.
I dropped Ponoko from my life and was surprised at the angles I’ve been able to achieve with my 3D Systems Cube’s infinite platform. Hitting 777 was cool too!
Wrote about the need for more role models in this world, not working for free and my Eiffel Tower doing the rounds in the UK!

Goal for June

Get the book done and sent to the editor! It’s been two years in the making and I’ve passed the 350 page mark today thanks to my idea of progressive refinements and I’m still waiting content and organizing things… I fear this phone book will be over 400 pages by the time its done and a health hazard for those trying to pick it up off the floor. Wow!
