CNC Table Router Projects = CNC Laser Cutter Projects

Something that I have to make a better job communicating on this site is that all the CNC table router projects found on CNCKing.com are all very much laser cutter friendly as well! CNC Table Router Projects = CNC Laser Cutter Projects is a valid equation!

But it goes further than just that… when you purchase a CNC table router project, I don’t only give the rounded inner corner files but also all the straight cut ones as well because somebody may need to cut them with a different router bit than what I use. In short, table router projects bigger and slightly more refined than their laser cut cousins.

The reason behind this is when I was teaching myself how to design for CNC table routers, I did so by redesigning the laser cutter projects – starting from simple to more complex. The nice thing about this approach was a far quicker R&D than otherwise possible as I still didn’t know how to optimize design process for table routers at the time.

Sydney Harbor Bridge

For instance, this is a design that I just finished testing yesterday – a much needed update to my original Sydney Harbor Bridge (render below) but the big difference is just that, it’s almost a meter long!

The build process is the same as the laser version but the spans are doubled (for added strength) along with a few modifications to make everything better at a larger scale. I blogged extensively about the conversion process of this design by the way – just do a blog search for Sydney Harbor Bridge or Sydney Harbour Bridge… I never know the spelling of this!

When I put this project on up sale on CNCKing.com in a week or two, you can just as easily purchase the same design but with the inner corners rounded or not rounded in the table router project section of the site or opt for the original smaller version.

So, if you have a laser cutter, go ahead, buy and download a CNC table router version of this project… you’ll have an even better version of the same design with a lot more tolerances built-in. It’s still a very solid design though – but remember, the same isn’t true the other way around, you can’t CNC table router a laser cut design on CNCKing.com without extensive modifications… which I’ve saved you the trouble of doing!
