Apatosaurus (Brontosaur): New CNC Project!

Apatosaurus (Brontosaur) CNC A new Apatosaurus (Brontosaur) has been added to the Collaborations / ShopBot Tools section of WoodMarvels.com and is available in PDF, DXF/PartWorks file formats for download right now!

This project is very simple to put together and is the second dinosaur to inhabit the CNC area of my site with a few more coming along for the ride shortly.

What I really enjoyed about CNC’ing this product was the very nice size of the finished product… if there is one project you want to cut to learn how to use your Desktop Shopbot, this is the one. You can see in the video below how fluid the motion of this machine it.

Unlike the laser cut version, this one has pockets for the wheels and side panels which are completely hidden from sight when the model if finally assembled – the z axis precision I can achieve really makes this model pop – something easily achieved with the laser simply by having burned edges for contrast.
