Material Options

What are your material options at CNCROi.com? They are endless but let’s cover the big ones in this blog post.

Acrylics

We’ve got a lot of acrylic options for you, there are more than what I’ve done below but this should get your creativity flowing. I grouped them up in “color range” so it’s easier to tell US what you want by giving us a specific code that I’ve put on these material swatches.

 

Wood

Next up is wood, these are the most often used ones at the CNCROi.com but like the acrylic, there are a lot more from bamboo to mahagony.

Stone

From bricks to beach pebbles of all sizes and shapes, I keep them in the CNCROi.com shop – they are a great gift to give to clients, last forever and can be used in endless applications from holding things down in the shop to keeping doors open.

Paper

We recently got into paper in a big way, so keeping stock of various types, colors and textures is something I’m actively working on. We use these for everything from custom corporate awards to signage… have yet to use paper for writing on but I’m sure that application will pop-up sooner or later.

Formica

There are many brands of “Formica” out there, I keep a small supply of it in the shop as well. It’s one of those material – when you have an industrial laser – that can be used for a variety of applications, it’s stronger and more resistant than paper but has more “imagery” options.

Metal

Second to wood, metal of all types from standard 304 stainless steel tags and anodized aluminium plates are always in the shop. We get calls, customer needs 100 brass valve tags, we got it!

Laminates

Although I don’t use as much laminate in the CNCROi.com shop as I’d like, I do have a healthy stock of it, laminates are great for signage where the weight and costs of other materials isn’t justified. We have lots of materials in stock, just last Sunday for instance, a customer in the USA called us and needed a 2 meter long acrylic stencil, it was big, and we were able to get it done and shipped first thing Monday morning!

Corian

We don’t have a lot of Corian at CNCROi.com but we do have some, it’s a material that has it’s own applications from custom countertops to cutting boards.

Delrin, Rubber… etc.

CNCROi.com also maintains a good stock of Delrin (for seals), rubber (for stamps) and a bunch of other odds and ends.

What a custom CNC shop is all about!

After starting CNCROi.com almost a year ago, we’ve accumulated lots of little off-cuts that we use for this blog to showcase some of our capabilities. From cutting steel and forming it into product to custom signage and acrylic showcases, there isn’t much we aren’t able to do.
